What are good upgrades for V6 mustangs that won't draw attention from racers and cops?
Ok, it isn't a GT, I had a small budget, and I am 18 so a v8 would skyrocket my insurance. I have a blue 2008 Mustang basic. No My Color feature, few interior options, factory parts basically, pretty much as basic as you get. For being 18 and having a Mustang I think I will settle for a V6. I have about $1500 to spend so turbocharge kits are unlikely. I bought it for the look and for a little power, most of my friends have 4-cylinder cars anyway. I want to make it look sporty but I feel I have to live up to the look and race it as I customize it. I was mainly thinking interior and exterior options like:
-Stripes (looks awesome but may get the attention of racers)
-GT/Grille Fog Headlights
-Interior LEDs (floor and gauges)
-Different Grille (if not the GT grille)
-Sound System (Not a big concern)
-Engine Parts (Cooling units)
-Additional Emblems
Don't Need:
-Spoiler (have)
-Chrome pieces (unnecessary)
-Smoked lights (Not worth it)
man, i have an 06 gt with all the option from Ford. other than the worthless skipper 1000. The shaker 500 sucks as is, it can't even play new cds without skipping.
Do not turbo that car. You will in no way have the budget once you start adding the turbo and the custom tune you will need to run.
Do you just want looks? Side louvers from cervini look great, I don't care for the roush ones. Stripes would be expensive, at least the good ones or the painted on ones. Don't.
I was thinking about adding a stainless floorplate that lights up, I quickly changes my mind on that, the factory is fine.
I have the gt, so I have the base fogs. Worth the looks, but no performance there.
I hope you are not thinking of one of those chrome mesh grilles, like you see on the trashy 300c's or chargers.
Sound system could be a big upgrade if you drive a lot and want so
