My pup and my daughter and my pup's TOYS!!!???

My daughter, soon to be 5 years old, is an only child, very sweet, mind you, but every time I buy my 5 month old welsh terrier a toy, especially the plush animals with squeakers, she confiscates it and won't let him have it. If i insist, she only winds up stealing and hiding it on him later. Anyone else have this problem? I don't want to be too hard on her, she may end up resenting the dog...thanks!
I do buy her toys at the same time, and I let her pick out a Plush Dog for the pup, but she wound up keeping it! I'm to the point now where I have to buy two of the same Dog Toy, and cut the tags off of one [hers]!! ridiculous! for answerer number 4 - agree - don't like parents treating pets better than kids.

Your daughter has a problem with sharing because she is an only child. You should teach her the diference between her toys and Dog Toys because that doesn't seem sanitary either. Stealing doesn't make your child look so great either. She should be punished for that. She can't grow thinking that it's okay, no matter how old she is. You don't have to be harsh, but you need to show that it is wrong and disobeying you has consequences.

BTW: Buying your daughter the same toy as the dog is just spoiling her and nurturing her behavior. It's just making the situation more convienent for you in the meantime and showing her that she will get whatever she wants if she do what she does. Dumb suggestions people!
