Do small/Toy Dogs have to go to the bathroom/pee more often than medium to large sized dogs?
I am interested in a small to medium sized dog and was wondering how often during the night, if at all, I will have to let him out. I doggie sat a Yorkshire Terrier for a week several months ago and he would wake me up every night between 3 and 4 to be let out. Is this common for all small breeds or did I just get unlucky with that one?
I have two smaller dogs, 12lbs and 16lbs, and neither of them need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night if I take them potty before they go to bed. Of course if I wake up in the middle of the night they might want to go out and go potty, but they can hold it for 8 hrs, especially if they are sleeping. When you are first Potty Training, you may have to take them out in the middle of the night especially if they are a puppy, but that is true of any sized dog.
