How do you straighten out a plastic tablecloth?
I have a beautiful tablecloth on my dining room table that I want to keep protected from dust, Pet Hair, spilled food... So I thought a clear plastic tablecloth would do the trick. However, when I bought it, it was folded up and now looks all crumpled and trashy. How can I make it look better aside from taking it off?
The best way and the quickest way that I found is to use a steam iron & a cotton cloth/towel. (Don't put iron straight on.) Soak the cotton cloth/towel in hot water and wring the water out. Place it over the clear plastic that you have, and iron through that - press hard. You could turn your iron pretty hot. Just make sure you don't keep the iron in one place for too long. Test it in an inconspicuous area first so you know how hot you should turn up the iron.
